How are you different from other portrait-from-photo studios?
First: Through the use of digital technology, I offer you original, hand drawn, fine art portraits from your photos, in the form of beautiful, high-resolution prints. This makes them very affordable, and adds the valuable option of having your portrait duplicated to share with others, or used in other ways (such as for printing).
Second: My portraits are more than just a “rendered likeness” of your photographs. Through skillful drawing and sensitive design I play up the dramatic appeal and enhance the mood of the photo to create a truly special piece of art that touches the emotions.
How long will it take?
I’m usually able to have your portrait shipped within two weeks of your order (often sooner depending upon the season). I’ll always give you a delivery date with your quote, at the time that you place your order.
What can I have drawn?
Just about anything that you can supply reference for. Portrait photographs, favorite snapshots of people, pets, places, old photographs, graphics, you name it. In fact, I can combine photos, include the background of your choice and remove any unwanted elements.
How do I know it will be good?
I have over twenty years of experience and hundreds of satisfied customers. Please browse the portfolios. The quality of the portrait will depend, to a good extent, on the quality of the photograph. However, I can get striking results even from poor photos. Be sure to take advantage of the Help and Tips for suggestions on selecting good photos for portraits.
What if I’m not satisfied?
When your portrait is completed I will send you an online proof for your approval. This is your opportunity to either suggest any changes that you would like me to touch up, or to approve the portrait as is. I will not ship the portrait until you are fully satisfied.
